Econ3×3 invites concise research articles and opinion pieces from economists, policy advisors and social science specialists — including post-graduate students and independent professionals. We reserve the right to accept, reject, or recommend editorial changes.

What we look for

Accessible

Written in clear, accessible language for a wide, policy-interested audience.

Evidence-based

Drawing on relevant research and analysis, with illustrative figures or tables.

Short & relevant

Between 1000 and 1,800 words, on a South African or regional economic or social policy issue.

The process

    Pitch

    A two-paragraph summary of your argument and the data behind it. We will respond within a week.

  2. 2

    Submit

    Email us your article with a short abstract (max 70 words), plus your name, position and institution.

  3. 3

    Review & edit

    Up to two rounds of editorial feedback on language, clarity & structure.

  4. 4

    Publish & share

    We publish on Econ3×3 and share via our newsletter. Other outlets may republish in full or in part with acknowledgement.
