Economic Advisor to the President

Michael Sachs is currently the Economic Advisor to the President. Sachs was the Adjunct Professor, Southern Centre for Inequality Studies, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg from 2019 to 2025. He was head of National Treasury’s Budget Office between 2013 and 2017 and research coordinator at the head office of the African National Congress between 2001 and 2007.
