Dr Kelle Howson is a Senior Researcher and Project Lead in the IEJ’s social protection. She has held previous roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford and a Senior Researcher in New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s Labour Leader’s Office. Kelle’s research interests include the digital economy, digital public infrastructure and universal basic income. Kelle has published widely across academic and popular platforms. As the social protection Project Lead at IEJ, she leads the Institute’s high profile litigation work, challenging exclusion from social protection in South Africa.
