Geci Karuri-Sebina is an associate professor at the Southern Centre for Inequality Studies at Wits University. She is also a fellow of the Wits Machine Intelligence and Neural Discovery (MIND) Institute; organiser of the Africa Civic Tech Innovation Network (CTIN); and an adjunct professor at the UCT’s African Centre for Cities. Her research interests lie in the intersections between people, place, time and technological change. Karuri-Sebina holds Bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Sociology (Coe College, Iowa); Master’s degrees in Architecture and Urban Planning (UCLA); and a PhD in urban planning and innovation studies (Wits).
